Forest Green’s music addiction began at the tender age of 12, when her mother, Donna, would go grocery shopping for natural foods on weekends in Berkeley, CA. On these urban excursions Donna would drop Forest and her brother, John, off on Durant and Telegraph to go record shopping. Exposed to such a expansive world of music, both through record hunting in the Bay Area, as well as going out every weekend to neighboring clubs, these roots continue to have a huge influence on Forest’s passions for musical exploration and diversity to this very day through her Djing. Forest Green has a special love and dedication to collectives that push the envelop of any electronic medium while keeping in mind the true freedom we are all entitled to through our artistic expression. Always desiring collaboration with like minded artists, Forest was introduced to the Cloud Factory through her DJ companion Stonie when spinning her first time with this collective in Oakland at Cloud House. Forest also recently became a resident of Sister, the all female San Francisco DJ crew throwing down serious like, and is on a potentially explosive under cover mission to reclaim the creative world for all with her counterparts, technoWest, armed with nothing but the belief that free expression is our eternal right and that we should exercise this right often and never let it be taken away from us!!! |
